I took this at school a couple of weeks ago - the 19th of February to be exact (don't believe the date on the camera info, i used my art teachers camera and it seems he hasn't set the time and date) I was taking photographs for part of an artwork (which I will try get a photo of when I see it next - it's somewhere in the staffroom at school I think) and this happened to be one of them. I didn't actually end up using this photo in the piece and am not sure if I like it that much, but I had them burnt to a disc so I could go home and fiddle with them.
This has started to really grow on me now, despite the fact it's not drenched in colour like I usually like. An explanation on the name of the work - my teacher really liked this photo so he put it on his laptops desktop background. Apparently when teachers in the staffroom see it, they say it looks like cuts and wounds. When I was told this, the REM song came into my head and I decided that "Everybody hurts sometimes.... even dumpsters"
