Description

Living out in the suburbs of western Sydney, it's sometimes very easy to forget just how beautiful Australia really is.

It's nice to go somewhere where you can be reminded.

I don't think I've ever been in a building older than 150 years.... which may seem unusual to some people, like Europeans, who live in a place surrounded by old buildings and streets. Australia, as it is today, is only young.... but the ground we walk upon is ancient. I wonder how old that rock is? How many times it's seen the tide come in and go out? The oldest known rock in the world, is a tiny grain of zircon crystal from Western Australia. It has been dated at 4.4 BILLION YEARS OLD.
Just as everything appears in this photo..... it could have been taken at any time, long before we damn English came in and pushed the original inhabitants, the Australian Aboriginals, around. It could be from a time when buildings and roads were thousands and thosands of miles away, across the Pacific. Out to the horizon there..... there is really no significant landmass until you reach South America. I guess that might be hard to picture for someone living in say.... Slovakia, surrounded by other countries.
I really believe that this photograph doesn't really belong to any particular time....

Until of course I remember, that it's a photograph. :P

Have a nice day!
